I just had this done on my 755CE - it left me Friday, got to IBM
on Monday and was back to me Wednesday. My three years runs out
next month.. I think I mentioned this before here - what I got
was a used keyboard, it works ok but I ordered another new one
as I'd like to keep this Thinkpad a while longer and these key-
boards won't last anywhere near as long as the rest of it all...

You can remove everything (battery, CD drive, hard disk, memory)
before sending it in - IBM doesn't need any of these to fix the
keyboard. The battery weighs a lot (taking it out means less
stress in shipping), the CD drive is probably somewhat fragile
and the hard disk has all your software on it.
