That'd be the Lucent (was Livingston) PM3 - they have software problems
and I suggest using MNP instead of V.42 until they get it fixed, which
by the way is taking many more _months_ than I ever thought it would...
They are well aware of the problem(s) at least.

The real problem here is USW charges like crazy for ISDN PRI lines so
most USW-based ISPs bring in the lines via channelized T1s instead -
better that than going broke paying the phone company.
And if whoever has V.90 (56k) running you may need a few (like three or
so) commas after the dialed number so you end holds off until after the
two V.8 (56k negotiation tones) have passed. My MWave usually rolls
through these ok, but not every time.
